Phillip Hrozek

Phillip Hrozek - The other half of the twins of power!!!

Phillip on redpoint on a 7C+ on Majorca
Like his brother Dani, i met Phillip on a trip to Majorca with Red Chili and like his brother he impressed me with his committement and style above the sea - and on the ropes.
Climbing together they make a pretty awesome team and are both ticking machines - when i asked Phillip how many problems he had done between 7c and 8a+ he'd done about 100+ in the last year.....

"I´m 25 years old and am living in Munich, Germany. I was born in Fürstenfeldbruck, a small town 30km outside Munich and since 2003 I have been studying Sports Science & I hope to get my diploma soon…

Phillip on the crux of a bouldery 7C+ at Cala Magraner, Majorca.

I’ve been climbing for 8 years.

The first two years of climbing me and my brother Daniel went to different climbing halls across Munich, usually just one day a week. After that the rock outside really took us and since then we just prefer to climb and boulder on natural rock.

After two years of climbing we both sent our first route graded 8b (UIAA 10).

The next years we were focused on short hard routes. At that time we met Toni Lamprecht who showed us some hard bouldering problems on the nice spot Kochelsee, a great place near the alps.

Since that time Daniel and I learned to work really hard bouldering and we both sent our first Fb 8a+ bloc after 4 years of climbing.

In terms of training there is not much to say, sometimes I do some special exercises on the campus board or on my own fingerboard, especially in summer when it’s too hot for hard boulders or routes but in winter or spring I just go climbing outside.

I think climbing and bouldering in its purest form is the best thing to get stronger.

In the last years i´ve climbed so many good routes and boulders. Her are some of the greatest boulders i´ve done: La pelle direct (Fb 8a+),Cresciano; Pluto auf der Jagd (Fb 8a+), Maltatal; Jenseits von Jena (Fb 8a+), Kochel; Marylyn Monroe (Fb 8a), Ticino; Frogger (Fb 8a), Ticino; V2 (Fb 8a+), Frankenjura……and many many more….

I’ve loved every single problem I´ve done as each was individual and specific in its character and so, every problem was perfect!!

There are some many goals for the future in my mind. The most important thing for me is to be healthy and happy with climbing and bouldering all the time.

Moreover, I want so see so many spots out of Europe, especially Bishop, Hueco, Rumney and many more….my aim is to climb hard routes and boulders all over the world!!!!

And more goals for the future would include climbing some projects I started many years before, and after that there’s plenty of routes and boulders in Ticino, Frankenjura, Maltatal etc…."
