Red Chili is one of the success stories of recent years in the shoe market. It's mix of superb product and flashy style have made it into one of the biggest brands in the world in only 7 short years.... The pensive, serious, broody and some would say smouldering Red Chili founder, Stefan Glowacz - wouldn't you trust this man to make your shoes... Red Chili was founded by Stefan Glowacz, one of Europes top climbers, a world class athlete and a Wild Country sponsored climber. (to see more about Stefan go to his profile). Stefan was sick of not being able to get the shoes he wanted for his climbing and on a trip to southern California with his good friend Uwe Hofstaeder, (the German importer of Wild Country) they decided that the only way to get what they wanted was to make their own shoes.... This was a big and difficult step but almost immediately, the shoes they created caused a stir. The shoe market was flat, and the combination of good performance and great branding really gave people something to talk about and sales soared. It was important to get Red Chili into the UK market so Stefan approached his good friend Martin Atkinson - buddies from the early European competition days - to see if his company, Wild Country, would be interested in importing them. Obviously they were, and the brand just continued to grow from there making big inroads in the UK and then spreading into the USA - this time with Wild Country's partners Excalibur.
